Over the weekend we took a hike.
It was a refreshing, exhilarating ramble through the woods ...
All 8 of us enjoyed the trek. Even my hubby, who 1 year ago, discovered he would have to have reconstructive leg surgery, again. For the second time. As I watched him traipse with the kids, I marveled at modern medicine, his determination, and God's grace.
I know I've said that I will one day blog about our amazing journey ... and I will. (I just need about a week to jot down and edit all my thoughts).
When we reached this spot, it was more than conquering a mountain:
It was conquering the 2 most painful, physically challenging years of my husband's life. As I watched him race to the top I rejoiced, not just because he is strong again, but because he is a man that has maintained his integrity and given God the glory through it all. Even though he was humbled by his physical limitations, he never gave up.

So when we reached the summit and stopped to enjoy the view, I took a moment to cherish the significance of the climb.
Amazing my friend. I rejoice with you. God is the healer of all things and He is so proud of you for giving all the glory to Him. I am so happy for this milestone for your husband and your family to experience.
ReplyDeleteThat is wonderful. What a tribute to our God Who sustains us and lifts us up when we are down, but proves Himself time and again that He will never fail us. That trip will always be special in your heart, I know...
ReplyDeleteOh wow, absolutely gorgeous photos! I am sure it was well worth the work to get up there! :)

Ok, that brought tears to my eyes. You both have been a great testimony of faith during these past two years.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing....how beautiful in so many ways.
ReplyDeleteWhat a delight to see a picture of Paul on a hike. It was so hard to see him gallantly trying to keep up with all of us in Boone and Blowing Rock just one year ago. God is gracious and I celebrate this wonderful moment with you.
