They even get to have a medium when mommy takes too long in Target. Yesterday, I had a craving for a root beer float, but my #1 favorite is CRANBERRY LIMEADE.
I'm thinking that there might just be a wee bit 'o sugar in a medium grape slush.
When we turned onto our street, I gladly let them get out of the car and dance their way home.

(Yes, "Dancing in the Street by Joanie Bartels was totally going through my head)
Hello! I am so jealous you have a Sonic. We don't have one anywhere near us...YET...supposedly I've heard through the grapevine that they're building one in a nearby city. I'm crossing my fingers! I've been drooling over photos of their drinks and food long enough. LOL. Recently I've been lovin' Jack in the Box's strawberry/banana smoothie. Mmmm.

Our family LOVES Sonic happy hour. We will schedule family outings around this time so we can get our yummy cheap drinks. I think Sonic has the best ice ever, which makes for the best soft drinks. DIET DR PEPPER is my favorite. I also like their Diet Cherry Limeades.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for you - the freedom of homeschooling - all the wonderful memories your children are making with you - getting to revel in their growing up.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Sonic too!
ReplyDeleteWe FINALLY go one locally and are frequent (too) visitors!
There is something about their drinks that make me smile!
Happy hour(s)...
ReplyDelete11:00am : Diet Coke..it's the only thing that gets me through the phonics readers.
3:00pm : a cup of coffee with my 'snack' (the one that comes with my diet food..it's not that bad, actually.)
Camping on a school night AND dancing in the street??! Now, that's a cool mom!
I thank God for Happy Hour at Sonic!! I love to get their Raspberry Tea....soooo yummy! Seeing your kids camping out in the back yard sure does bring back memories of when my mom let me do the same thing as a child. I even had and extension cord ran from the laundry room window to power my litle black and white tv! LOL Good times.
ReplyDeleteWe LOVE Sonic, too! A new one just opened about a half-hour from us but we've yet to go there. (There are none closer - maybe that's a good thing?!) You ARE the 'Cool Mom'...good for you to make such wonderful memories with your kids!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
~Michelle :)
I am SO thankful that we moved back into the Land of Sonics!! You gave me a great idea. We're hitting Happy Hour after school today. Who cares if it ruins our supper?!

ReplyDeleteThis "happy hour" thing is VERY good to know. I had no idea. I think Brian would say one of the best things about our homeschooling is the fact that I rarely go out for 'treats' anymore because I'm not alone and I'd have to quadruple the price of my treat. Hmmmm...at $.59 a piece....things might be changing around here! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm feeling very left out ~ there is not a Sonic in sight! I've heard stories of this wonder but have yet to visit.

Just for the record...
ReplyDeleteI totally dig their drinks. Food... not so much. (Yuk!)
My pick me up... Happy Hour... would be a cat nap. LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteLet's see, my first pick me up would be a nice cold can of pepsi. If I really am feeling low, I would walk across the street to the little store where my daughter works and get a "screamer". what is a screamer? It is a slush with soft vanillia ice cream, kind of like a float and very yummy, especially on a hot day.
ReplyDeleteWe are a Vanilla DP family!
ReplyDeleteGrabbed one today right before my 3hour shopping trip for the month! Tonight I was thinking about the $ .99 milkshakes. Remember when they put them on sale last summer? I'm hoping that little deal is coming up soon!
We would load up the bus after dinner to go get shakes-my son got pineapple one night and I thought that sounded gross, but it is so good. Tastes like a Banana Split!
Pottery painting with you is a great pick me up!
ReplyDeleteHope things are going well.
I'm back on-line.
That makes me happy, too.
Happy Hour makes me so happy.
ReplyDeleteI'm a Pineapple Diet Dr. Pepper girl.
Every.Single.Time.
I love their lemonberry slush and my Mom is a huge fan of Sonic - gets a large diet coke with extra ice. When I was in Junior High and High school we went to Sonic every afternoon after school for a drink :)
ReplyDeleteToo funny - I thoughT i was the only mom who loved the slushes, limeades and root beer floats more than the kids. We have slushes 1 x a week after our trip to the zoo or Botanical Gardens. I give them the cranberry slushes so I dont feel so bad about all the sugar (could be in my head). I have a root beer float once every 2 weeks on my way home from the grocery store (last night in fact) {feels like such a splurge}
ReplyDeleteI also bribe my kids so I can hang out in Target {sheepish grin} but I do it with their amazing Kids meal Deal. An Icee and a Hot Dog (or PB & J) for $2. The kids eat and I get some fairly quite shopping time.
What can you say, Moms have to indulge every now and then too.
Amber and I share our Happy Hour addiction of the coveted Pineapple Diet Dr. Pepper.:)
