We've been on the:
Hubby was thrilled about his first visit here:
It was a tender moment to share with him.;) He was a sport and let me peruse. I returned the favor at the gi-normous hunting store we visited next.
Our Labor Day weekend was stretched into a beautiful 4 day mini-cation here:
It was a tender moment to share with him.;) He was a sport and let me peruse. I returned the favor at the gi-normous hunting store we visited next.
It has taken me 2 full days to get back into the swing of things because I keep dreaming of this:
We got our exercise on a nice long hike. With 11 people, we didn't even have to worry about bears. I am sure they were scared of us. Especially when the grown-ups broke out singing "Desperado" at full volume, which led to the great debate over which version is best, The Eagles or Karen Carpenter. Please discuss.
That water looks so crisp & clean! Sounds like you had a great time with your family. Those are the trips that make the memories to last a lifetime!
ReplyDeleteKaren Carpenter did "Desparado"? Meh...I'm sure the Eagles version was much better.
ReplyDeleteAh, memories there.
Loved the pics from the mountains. It looks so peaceful and refreshing!
Looks amazing and restful.
ReplyDeleteAnd it's The Eagles.
No question.
Great getaway! :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite version of "Desperado" would be the Eagles.... classic. :)
Wow...Karen Carpenter sang Desperado??
ReplyDeleteI vote the Eagles!
ReplyDeleteWhat sweet memories.
Glad I'm not the only one who didn't know Karen Carpenter sang "Desperado". Boy I sure felt some teenage angst in singing along with the Eagles, on full blast of course!
ReplyDelete(Although there was plenty of other angst to be had when I sang songs by the Carpenters)
Excuse me while I go pull out my Eagles Greatest Hits CD and start crooning ;-)
I believe we live in a word where there's room enough for The Eagles AND Karen Carpenter.
ReplyDeleteThat place looks amazing.
Thank you!! Told you the Eagles, Gretchen! :) Love, E
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, and the bears weren't scared of the 11 of us, they were scared of the whistle. For sure. ;)
ReplyDeleteWell, since you grew up on the Karen Carpenter version, I have to vote for that one. Love all these pictures! I'm so glad you all had a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteEagles, baby, all the way. And I was at Hobby Lobby just yesterday!!!! Loved it.
ReplyDeleteOh my, looks like you had an amazing time on your trip...bet it was so nice to get away! I definitely vote for The Eagles :) My husband & I saw them in concert just a few years back...fun time!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy a fabulous weekend!

Gorgeous pictures! And I think I recognize that little blonde boy.. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat friends are some of God's richest blessings!
Just to let you know..I think it took everyone a few days to get over the holiday. The shock that summer was over was enough to slow me down this week!
Have a wonderful weekend..
p.s. your last 'hiccup' comment on my blog was hilarious..thanks for the laugh!
Never been to Holly Lobby...what is it?
ReplyDeleteLOVE the water pics!
And Eagles. Didn't even have to think twice.
