And then one day, the ugly grey/beige locker from my high school memories showed up in my driveway. Three of them, to be exact.
Each of my children now have their own locker (how cool is that for homeschoolers?!) for storage. The price of spray paint and a little elbow grease sure is better than $987!
They were on their way to the dump, when my hubby rescued them. Because he knows me and loves me, he hosed them down and anti-bacterialized them. He knew I wouldn't be able to get past the whole germ thing.
I have trained him well, for he knows my secret weapon:
Oh yeah! You know where this is headed............
Oh yeah! You know where this is headed............
Moss green for little man's room
He decorated the inside by himself. Not bad for a 5 year old!
Nutmeg brown for my horse lovin' gal.
She has big plans for the inside of this one...
Soft pink for my surfer dudette.
~Next time I'll show you some pictures of the Hawaiian inspired room and an el-cheapo art idea.

We have lockers in the boys room, also saved from the dump. (Or saved from going to the dump). They love them.
I LOVE THOSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh my gosh! It makes me want to go digging around for some old lockers.
Those are fantastic!!!!!!!
What cute decor items, but so so handy.
Oh....and I've been oogling that locker series in PB, too. I'd love to see the house of the person who actually has the whole sha-bang.
Oh I love those! I would love to find some of those on their way to the dump! And some of those locker baskets too (like in gym class).
Great job on the re-do!
I love that he's on the lookout for awesome stuff like this!!! These are fantastic, and I still can't figure out how you have time for so many great projects!
I love that your horse girl has the requisite picture of a boy taped to the inside.
Keep your eye on that one :)
We have always wanted some of these...you really scored!! Husband takes brownie points, we must add!!!
I'm not sure if I'm more impressed with you for making them look so cute, or with your husband for seeing them and knowing you would love them!!!!! Thia whole story makes me happy!
Hubby wins for best score, he's a keeper!
You and P. should take this show on the road!! You all could go into a side business of junk made over. What a treat for the children to have their own locker--most kids do not get those until high school. CPQ is very observant, I had not even noticed the male photo but when I looked back I see it is our favorite man in uniform!!! love the picture of the ducks grown up and of your family on the dock--I love back views and the sepia tone--course I do like very much the subjects of that phot too! Miss Dixie
WOW!!! Yeah for the hubster coming through for the fam! Those locker's are FAB! My niece decorated the interior of her locker with scrapbook paper from Hobby Lobby. Your son's Locker looks adorable with the hats and stuff! Love these kind of posts-when folks have scored big!
Looks great!

And they look even better in person than in the pictures. They brought back such memories of high school days! And Dixie has a good eye to recognize the picture in the locker as Uncle Corey!
I am so in love with that little pink locker- is it weird that I really want one for myself?! Thanks for stopping by!
Great idea! I want some for my boys rooms! ~Ashley~ shanty2chic
The lockers are so cute! But wondering, should they be bolted to the wall so there is no danger of them falling over?
Yes! They are bolted to the wall, b/c they are very top heavy.
OSHA would be proud!
We were also perusing the PB catlog and my kids wanted lockers, too. I guess I should go dump shopping? Yours look great!
How adorable!!
I LOVE this idea... We homeschool too. ;)
I am SOOOO jealous! I totally NEED one (or 12!) of them!!
Those are so cute. I have a couple of lockers I paid $20. I love that kind of decor.
Enjoying your blog btw.
God bless.
