In a world of chaos, war, and strife, we all come together for the next two weeks to cheer on the home team as well as the underdog. I found myself enjoying the view of my children as they sat riveted to the screen as they watched mogul skiing and couples skating for the first time. What a great life-lesson in hard work, risk, courage, victory, failure, and determination.
I know most girls love the figure skating, but my favorite events are the snowboard halfpipe and snowboard cross. I might have to skip out of the fellowship time of bible study tonight to make it home in time to watch. :)
What is your favorite Winter Olympics sport?
Do you stay up past your bedtime during the games?

i love the short track speed skating--it's so exciting, and I'm a big Apolo Ohno fan. Enjoy!!
And I do stay up later to watch...
We have enjoyed watching Apollo Ohno and speed skating and any skiing event. (Our girls took up skiing this winter and loved it so they are impressed with the level of skill they are watching)
No...we are early to bed kind of people. We DVR it and watch it the next day before we turn on any radio or TV b/c we don't want to hear any outcome. ;-)
Love them all,but especially skiing of any kind, & most especially the really daring type of skiing. I've been a zombie every year that I've watched the winter games, but we finally have DVR & are watching them whenever we want, commercial free. So any that are on late, you can come over & watch here!
skiing and snowboarding for me. BTW I have been practicing virtual snowboarding myself (Wii Mario 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver) - Come on over anytime the snowboarding is great.

Oh, Girl.
Me and the Olympics are TIGHT PEEPS. I also do the couch jump and the story sob. LOVE IT.
I love every event. I'm riveted...even by curling. And hockey. Just because it's the Olympics.
While I stay up WAY too late...I'll be thinking of you staying up WAY too late. We should drinnk extra cups of coffee in eachother's honor or something!
Look at the bags under my eyes and tell me if I am staying up too late. :) I have loved figure skating for years, but I am learning to love speed skating and the mogul ski thingy.
I was up way to late last night watching the last couples skate. It was so fun!
Love the skating...all of it.
I love the speed skating though. Apollo and JR are my faves. Especially the kid. To go through what he did in a sport he loves and to come back...an example of true perseverence.
we love it all. i do love me some figure skating. last night i told my husband i don't know how those couples let their spouse couple skate with another person-i could NEVER do that. i sure is purty though.
i gave you a shout out on my bloggy blog today.
took your kitchen advice last week and sista-it was better than retail therapy or a sonic happy hour.
We will begin our Olympic adventure tonight...I have no idea why we haven't watched yet...I love, love the Olympics (winter or summer).
I like listening to the judges comments on the figure skating..like the year one of them said, after a long pause, "well, that was just...BAD!"
hmmm..favorite winter sport..don't really have one, just love watching the athletes compete for the medals.
I'm admitting that I haven't really watched any of it thus far. Not that I haven't wanted to... but because of various things going on around here. We'll catch up but I hate I missed the men's speed skating. Enjoy it for me... hollerin', jumpin' off your couch and all that. I'm listenin'.
From a person who dislikes watching sports on t.v. I have to tell you I become glued when the olympics are on. There are so many inspiring stories and athletes. I often find myself covered in goosebumps with tears in my eyes. My kids have been so excited as well. I love watching all sports. I also found the opening ceremony very touching.
I love the snow boarding and the short track skating..and YES..up waaaaaaaaay too late, I am a zombie at the gym in the mornings!
Thanks for the reminder about the market tote! Great idea for in the car! I have seen them (monogrammed) everywhere and now i have an excuse to get one (and one for my MIL too!!)
um, does commenting on your blog at 12:45am because I'm up watching the Olympics give that answer?! ;)
There's really not an event I don't love to watch except for maybe hockey...loved watching Lindsay Vonn and Shaun White last night...missed figure skating tonight so I'm up now and DVR'ing the earlier coverage at TWO am! So yes, addicted, for SURE!
