The Princess

Once upon a time there was a princess. She loved to prance about in beautiful dresses, twirl in front of the mirror, and change her outfit on an hourly basis. If any type of royal event was discussed, her first question was, "what will I wear?"

Sometimes the constant clothing dilemmas annoyed her mother. Since the queen did not have a household staff to do her laundry, she often found herself quite frustrated at the amount of princess garments needing attention. The queen did, however, enjoy watching her princess take delight in all the fancies. Occasionally, the words "high maintenance" escaped the queen's lips as she considered what the future might hold for her darling beauty.

Never in a million years did she expect to find, posted to the princess' door the following note:

No fashion. Only bugs and mud.

The queen will not be holding court today. She is in mourning.

You know - I'm sure it's only a phase. There are always 'phases' aren't there? Your 2nd born reminds me of our 2nd born. Loves to dress up - but also loves the mud and bugs (lady bugs that is)! I'm sure your 2nd born is also influenced by her younger sibling's fascination with mud and bugs. Glad to know my kids aren't the only ones who post notes on their doors!

Is the princess feeling ok?

I've seen the changes coming, but isn't it neat how God gives each of them unique personalities? Also reminds me that He can change all of us in any area!
Her love for bugs & mud/dirt has always been there, but it has now taken over the "prissy" side. We'll just have to wait to see "what's next"!
