Happy 4th of July!

I'm so thankful for the gift of freedom.  Today is truly a day to celebrate!

Aside from the boom of those big, loud, firecrackers that people do the whole week before, during, and then afterwards for a few days...I do enjoy the 4th of July. I love the patriotism and the festivities.

My husband's folks owned a grocery store in small town America, (Alma Ne.) and every year we enjoyed the 4th of July there, with the parade, art in the park, the family gathering and of course the fireworks over the lake, and then dad would dish up ice cream for everybody! It was great fun!

Your pictures here remind me of it all, and bring me right back to those "good ole days" with the folks when they were still alive!

I too enjoy July...and we do gather with our immediate family here in Kansas now, and celebrate several July birthdays together.
