I love changing out the 'fillers' for my apothecary jars for the seasons. This large one requires a lot of stuff because of its size. I started collecting the extra eggs I had around the house and realized that I only had enough for about 1/4 of the jar.
The brown and speckled ones were what I already had, but I needed some color. I didn't want to just use the bright (neon) plastic eggs. I wanted a soft look.
I happened upon these light blue beauties at our locally owned dollar store. I am not sure what their original purpose was supposed to be on those sticks, but I just pulled them off (I'm brutal, like that).
Aren't they cute? So for just a little $$ I was able to 'bring a little spring!'

You're good. You're very very good. I would have walked right past those eggs, unless they were filled with chocolate or something, and then trust me, I'd have been brutal with them as well.
Thanks for the great idea! I'm going to go look for some.
P.S. Thanks for the instructions for Mr. Linky. I didn't post because I only have "after" pix. I'll have to start doing some "befores" now and join in in a future party!
Very cute and fun!

Oh , that is such a great idea. You smart, decorating guru, you. :)
Any thoughts on where to find pretty jars like yours?
Thanks!
I just saw some beautiful jars at TJmaxx 2 weeks ago. They had tons and they were very well priced!
I have just found your blog and really like the things you are sharing. I loved the French-inspired bedroom, and the eggs are adorable. I'm glad to be following your blog now. Linda
I did this same thing last year with eggs that looked very similar fro m Dollar Tree. Don't you just love a good dollar store find!
Great idea! I love "seeing potential" in things. Some days I do...others I just can't seem to see it.
Those are cute! I'm heading to the Dollar Tree this afternoon to find some cheap pretty eggs too.
Great ideas...love 'em all!
