Birthday Wish

Hey Sweet Bloggy Friends!
Today is my birthday, so I'm not taking the time to do a long post.
I woke up to the kitchen decorated with streamers, by my kids, and a hot Peppermint Mocha from my hubby. He speaks my language.

Here's my birthday request:
You know I love anything sweet (well, except for fudge). So... leave me a comment and tell me your favorite dessert. It may be something you make, your momma makes, or you've had in a restaurant. Let me know where you've had it. I'm always open to new recipes if you want to include that too. ;)

Have a wonderful day. Thanks for being a special part of my life. You bless me.

Happy birthday! Thank you for you fun, creative, and encouraging blog posts! I have an unhealthy relationship with hot fudge brownie sundaes from Goodberrys. My fave dessert to make when I am having a girlfriend over is a chocolate chip cinnamon coffee cake. YUM!!

Aw, Happy Birthday, Friend!

My fav sweet thing is my late aunt's chocolate chip coffee cake. It would actually go really well with that cup of peppermint mocha your hubby made.

It's a fam secret, so I won't post it, but if you email me, I'll give it to you.

Have an awesome birthday!

Happy Birthday! I hope your day is filled with lots more good things!

I love rice krispie treats, apple pie, and cheesecake. Cannot pick just one dessert!

My favorite dessert is cheesecake. I have made one from scratch (Betty Crocker Cookbook) and have even made the no-bake Jello brand kind, which was surprisingly good. I have even ordered it instead of dinner a few times when we've gone out! Happy Birthday!

Well, you know, my Sweet, that I love all things sweet... but one of my favorites is making flan & sharing it with you! When I get my hand back, I'll make you (us) some. No need to give you the recipe, 'cause you always say, "Why don't YOU just make it for me?"
Happy Birthday!!!

Happy Birthday Gretchen! I know one of my favorite desserts is a Strawberry Cheesecake Trifle. This one may have to wait until Spring when Strawberries are in season.

2 (8oz) packages of Cream Cheese, softened
1 (8oz) container cool whip
2 pints of Strawberries, sliced
1 cup sugar, divided
4 tbls orange juice
1 loaf frozen Sarah Lee pound cake, thawed and cut into 1/2 inch cubes

In a bowl, toss strawberries with 1/4 cup sugar, set aside. In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, orange juice and remaining sugar until smooth. Fold in whipped cream. Drain Strawberries. Place half of the cake in a trifle or serving bowl. Top with a third of the cream cheese and half of the strawberries. Repeat layers. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.

Happy Happy Birthday! I hope you get all your heart desires!!! My favorite desert is a tie between pumpkin pie and blackberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream.

Happy Birthday, Gretchen! I love sharing my name with someone as cool as you.

Peppermint mochas are to die for.

Ummm...favorite sweet. This time of year...peppermint bark, or actually, I had some kickin' gingerbread at Trader Joes (sample) today. Of course I then had to buy the mix.

Happy Birthday! What a wonderful start to your day. Could you have your husband call mine? :)

I think one of my very favorite desserts is what they call a Chocolate Delight. The best I ever had was at the Victorian Tea Room in Mabank, Texas, but I've had them many times. You know, it's that layer thing with a graham cracker crust, then I think a cream cheese and powdered sugar mixture, then chocolate pudding, and topped off with whipped cream and chocolate shavings. MMmm, mmm. Good!

Hope you're having a great day!

These are ALWAYS a hit - Oreo Balls(AND one of my faves!)
Mix 1 package of double stuff oreos(or regular stuff mint oreos) with one package of cream cheese and freeze.
Melt white chocolate/almond bark and take mixture out of fridge and make into balls, rolling in white chocolate.*works best if you do this in steps-melt a little chocolate, cover the oreo balls and put everything back in fridge while you melt more chocolate*

Once you finish all of them, freeze till hard and enjoy!
Happy Birthday!

Happy birthday!

One of my all time favorite desserts is a delicious gourmet cheesecake that my husband fixes a couple of times a year. It is layers of delectable goodness. The great part is that he fixes it and I don't have to be anywhere around.

Oh my Happy Birthday!! Hope it was lovely. Haystacks are one of my favorite goodies.

1 Bag Butterscotch chips (don't go generic; they taste weird)
1 Bag chow Mein Noodles
1 T. Peanut Butter

Melt the butterscotch chips in the microwave. Takes about 2 minutes, but check every 30 seconds or so. They burn quickly. When they are melted, stir in the peanut butter then the chow mein noodles (don't use the whole bag--about 3/4). Drop onto waxpaper in little "haystack" looking piles. They firm up quickly are are a big hit! YUM!

Happy Birthday! I hope your day was awesome! What a sweet tribute your mom made on her blog.

My favorite sweet thing? Oh, I have to pick just one?
Since it's Christmas, I will have to say that my favorite sweet thing during this time of year is a very simple sugar cookie with sprinkles. I cannot stop eating them!
