Feathering my Nest

I recently received this photo in my in-box from my dear friend.  She is the one who took me on an adventure this summer to find the perfect black fabric .  She bought me my fabulous black mirror, and she found this adorable fabric that day.  It has elegant little green frogs with red dots.  It is perfect for her bonus room windows.

She has a knack for details and I always get such great ideas from her.  Take for instance this wreath she added to the window.  Nice touch!
So I stole her idea and did this:

I added this feather wreath.
I had been eyeing them for several months but I wasn't willing (or able) to spend $20 on it.  But I happened upon this one (on sale!) at Micheals.  I added the weekly 40% off coupon and paid pennies for it.  Since the mirror was so large and heavy, I wanted to soften it a bit.
To hang it, I simply added some ribbon and tacked it to the wall with a pin.  Yes, a simple dress pin did the trick.  Brawny little thing!
The black ribbon is just looped around the whole wreath:
I just love the softness and texture it adds to the bold black framed mirror.
The best ideas are borrowed from good friends!

Your right about that! Love the feather wreath! I use pins also to hang things. My hubby does not like lots of holes in the wall, well I don't either so those pins work great.

What adorable fabric! It adds a classy and whimsical touch! Frogs! Too cute! Your feather wreath is the perfect touch for your mirror. It softens it nicely. And so clever about the ribbon and pinning it right above! You have me thinking! I have a giant, come with the house bathroom mirror that does not have a frame! A pretty wreath in the middle would be a lovely touch. Thanks for the idea! And thank you to your friend for sharing the picture of her valances! My compliments. :o)

You're right, it does add softness to the mirror. This would be perfect for my large mirror in the living room. I'm going to keep my eye out for a feather wreath. Love those colors too. :-)

That's adorable! I've been planning to do the feather wreath/mirror thing for a while over our couch...but I don't have either. Still on the hunt for those :) A monogrammed wreath would look cute on your friend's window too. I just saw one in Ballards and Kimba did a post on them yesterday I think. 2 great ideas!! Thanks.

Love it.
What is at the base of that wreath?
Are they mounted on a wreath form?
I also love your grapevine wreath...Do you make them? If so, where do you find the grapevine?
Sorry for all the questions.
You have inspired me to spiff up around my nest.
