Fabulous Finds

On our way home from the mountains I had to stop at Hobby Lobby.
Why o why don't we have one here?!
I think I know why.  It's really for my own good.

Since I had all three children I knew my time was limited.
I am not ashamed to say that I totally used the candy bribe before we even got out of the car.

As I approached the 60-80% off signs, I started having heart palpitations.
First I found this:

With this sticker on it:

I know, hate me.  While the grey finish was okay, it wasn't really my style.

Oh yes, much better.  To see it in its true glory, check out yesterday's post.

Then I found this.
Poor thing.  There were several of these available, because really, who wants a rooster that looks like it is rusting and molding at the same time?
But then I saw the price: Was $19.99  Now $6.80.  Now we're talking!
I've been wanting a rooster for my kitchen for a long time and couldn't find the right one.  After a little TLC (and a good coat of spray paint, of course) this one was ... fabulous!

Ahhhhhhhh!!!! I love it!!! I love it all!!!

I picked up a fleur-de-lis...gosh, that's a silly word. Did I even spell that right? Anyway, I bought one at a yard sale a while back and hadn't decided what to do with it yet. I was thinking I was going to paint it white but I love your black one so much. I think I'll try it that way.

And the rooster is just too awesome. I love the red!

I LOVE THIS POST!!!!!!! The red was the perfect color for the rooster and I love the BIG fluer de le. (sp?) Thanks for my sweet comment......I love looking at your blog...on a very, very regular basis.

You are too funny! I have heart palpitations too when I see a sale. Also, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that uses the candy bribe. I just did that today with my two sons and two nephews. That's 4 boys under the age of 9.

Oh yeah, I just love Hobby Lobby. Great bargains and great job spray painting them....now they are delightful!!!

Kimba from a Soft Place to Land (one of your favorites too) spray painted some ceramic stuff not very long ago and I decided I need to try it. It works!! sand, prime and spray as usual!! Now find yourself some uglies!!

I am so glad you got to pop into Hobby Lobby...I was on my way there tonight and got side-tracked at the Big Reopening of our Good Will (and they interviewed me for the news...lol).
Oh...I guess I need to edit my post and let everyone know that this week is VBS (at another church) from 9-noon, and I already had the corner cabinet done....sheer bliss!:)I home school, and direct a program, so I have 5 weeks and counting to get everything in the whole world done.:)
