Carpet Miracle

Do you remember my not-so-wonderful moment last month when my dog decided to eat charred squirrel and then give it back to us ON THE CARPET?
I tried everything.  Seriously, every. stinkin. thing to try to get it out.
NOTHING worked.
And then along came Pinterest.

I was a little scared to try it.  But hey, at this point I had nothing to loose.  Either it would:
a.) work and we would rejoice
b.) do nothing and I would have to figure something else out
c.) bleach my carpet and we would have to replace it

I gave it a try and it worked!!!
Nothing short of a carpet miracle.  Wanna know the trick?  I'll share, but don't be scared.

2 parts Hydrogen Peroxide
1 part Dawn dish soap

Pour it on and scrub with a clean towel.  All of the stain (and my angst) disappeared.

Check out this fun (quick) video for a good laugh.  He's totally describing what I do.  Do you?

And because I can't resist:
Happy Friday!

That reminds me of my 'misfortune' when we had just installed a wonderful 'sage' green carpeting and I had preached and harped at my husband to take shoes off etc, to be careful with the new carpeting. One afternoon as I was heading back to work my cat got sick on the carpeting and I in a hurry grabbed what I thought was animal 'cleaner' for carpeting. I scrubbed and scrubbed and the carpeting turned a strange color and I gasped as I realized I was using BLEACH. I had grabbed the wrong white container. My husband said to me "SURE GLAD that wasn't me"... fortunately we had carpet remnants in the garage and the company came back and cut a square out and patched the 'miscolored spot' I made right in the middle of the living room. What a humble moment.

Oh that one I have to remember. I also use straight amonia and then scrub with a damp cloth and then rub dry. It works well also. Hugs, marty

I'm sitting her laughing OUT LOUD because I so do what that video described. Right down to picking it up off the floor to drop it so I can vacuum it up! Thanks for the laugh!

My sister is a dog groomer and she showed us this at Christmas. My moms dog stepped on a broken ornament on Christmas and bled in a few spots on her carpet. My sister just used the peroxide and it immediately disappeared! We couldn't believe it! Hope you are having a good New Year thus far. :-)

This is WONDERFUL news!!!!

I may or may not have a few stains on the carpet upstairs where my cute little, big-bowed, smock dressed daughters totally pooped on the floor. You can dress em up but you can't take em out, right?
I tried my hardest to get the stains out but you can still see that...something ambiguous happened there...

Thanks for sharing. Glad to hear my loved family pet isn't the only one to cause trouble.
