Just Strapping!

When I visit Etsy, I can't bring myself to purchase much when I know I could make it myself. Call me cheap. The problem is that I don't usually get around to following through. This time I did and I'm tickled pink! I chose two coordinating fabrics: a wonderful excuse to go to the fabric store.
This project only uses about 1/8 yard, so I could choose the non-clearance fabric.
It was a very simple venture, requiring no pattern ... I don't do difficult sewing. The most time-consuming part was the ironing. When I pulled out the iron my daughter said, "wow mom, you never use the iron!"
I cut apart the strap from my old 35mm camera to use the hardware, cringe, lined the inside of the fabric with fleece for comfort. My favorite feature is that I made it hip length. My other strap was a neck strap, which was too short to sling across my shoulder/chest. Now I can use it without taking it off.

I'm joining the linky party at Girl Creative:

I've seen those camera straps on etsy too. I want one but I'm too THRIFTY. (See how different words make cheap sound better?) Maybe I'll make one...

Great job! I bought one of the straps last year off of Etsy and love it. They really help the neck. lol

No, seriously.
A rockstar.

I think what impresses me most is that you knew how much fabric you would need. I always get three yards, no matter what I'm doing (which is usually creating a disaster, but that's a story for another day).
