Monday Request

Hello Friends! It's a little dreary here today, but sometimes I like a cloudy afternoon.  I want to sit on the couch with a book and read until I fall asleep.  It probably won't happen, but that's what comes to mind on an afternoon like today.

Remember the sound coming from the telephone on the Charlie Brown cartoons?  Waa-wa-waa-wa?  Sometimes when I type the words on this blog I think it comes across just like that: waa-wa-waa- wap.  Some bloggers prefer the lecture style:  this is what I have to say, take it or leave it.  Some bloggers prefer the dialogue version: here's what I think, what do you think?

I fall into the second category.  I like to write, but I also like to hear from you.  Lately my "comments" section has been drier than a crusty western ghost town.  For a girl whose love language is "words of affirmation" it's been tumbleweed blowin' dry.

I want to know a little more about you.  Well, I really want to know a lot more, but for today how about you just answer a simple question.

What is your favorite cold weather drink?

It's super easy to comment.  Just click on the "sweet thoughts from friends" below.  You can answer anonymously.  You don't have to have an account to leave a comment.

I'll read the comments and pretend that we are sitting on my couch sipping our favorite drinks together. :)

I'll start! I love hot cider, but only when it's cold outside. I love how it makes my house smell, too!

Peppermint Hot Chocolate is the best...from Starbucks of course! At home, regular old hot chocolate for me. Tried to add some nice flavor and it always came out wrong. Just bought Cold Stone Creamery's hot chocolate mix. Haven't tried it yet but I'm hoping for some positive results. Ghirardelli also has some good hot chocolate. I'm not a coffee drinker; can you tell?

Because I am coffee adverse - I like hot chocolate especially the one that someone else makes like at Starbucks or Panera. Would you like to meet there soon?

I know it is a little boring, but it is still my favorite..just an old fashioned cup of hot chocolate. I even prefer it with no marshmallows and no whip. My favorite cup is made with flakes of chocolate from William Sonoma! yum yum!

I hear ya, I'm a words of affirmation girl, myself. :)

I love SO many hot drinks- probably thanks to my stint working at Starbucks for a year! HA!

Lately I'm going for

white mocha's (WITH whip) ;)
&
chai tea latte's
(made with soy milk and no water)

I'm fairly new to your blog -
Have you ever stopped by my parts?

I must say that I love Peppermint Mocha's from Starbucks but they add too many pounds so I don't have them often. lol I also enjoy a good cup of coffee sitting by the wood stove. :)

I know what you mean about a dry desert of comments. That would be my blog. lol

COFFEE!!!!! Preferably some kind of specialty latte from Starbucks.

This is a hard one for me, for I am afraid I am not a coffee drinker and I am allergic to chocolate so the hot stuff is out of the question.

I like a cup of hot tea, but I prefer it made the way it is in Asia, so I don't drink too much of it around these parts.

I am a water girl (cold) but I would still enjoy the chat. :)

Hands down, Russian/Spiced Tea. I'm just now finishing up what's left of last year's batch and will be making a fresh one soon. It makes me happy, happy.

(And sorry I've not been a regular commenter lately - this working four days a week has messed up my blog reading/writing/commenting schedule).

Its wet, cloudy, somewhat cold and dreary here (in South La) also. Makes me want to curl up in bed and watch the cooking shows on the DVR which wont happen either. Im drinking coffee. Cafe Au Lait from Starbucks is my favorite. After reading about Sandy's hot chocolate, I am now wishing I had some fancy hot choclate in the house tonight.

I love Russian Spiced Tea. We used to drink this at a Christmas Tree Farm when I was young. They had it waiting in the barn when you got back from cutting down your tree. It is so comforting & cozy to curl up with a cup of this on a cold day. :)

I love hot drinks year-round, so it's hard to pick just one. I love my morning coffee and during the winter j usually make more in the afternoon. Peppermint mochas are divine, and I love homemade hot chocolate.

I always mean to comment, but lately I'm reading from my phone while nursing the baby and it's hard! I'll work on that:)

White Chocolate Mocha from Starbucks. But at the same time, I want the iced tea. The coffee is the pastry and the tea is the drink. I don't drink coffee except for this drink. But I love to smell it when my husband makes it. And I drink iced tea every morning--my husband delivers it to me. And I'm sure that's way more drink information than you wanted!

As I sit here sipping some hot chocolate FULL of mini marshmallows... I guess it depends on what mood I'm in. I love really hot drinks, whatever it is (I always order "extra hot" if I stop at Starbucks). I like flavored coffee with flavored cream, hot cider, Constant Comment tea, hot chocolate with LOTS of marshmallows, & flavored hot chocolate of all kinds.

I love Milk Nog!!! YUM-O!!

Mine is the same as Sandy's....I love Starbuck's peppermint hot chocolate. I try to only drink it a couple times during Christmas vacation so it's more of a treat. Otherwise I like any hot chocolate made at home.

Well, it used to be mocha latte from Caribou Coffee....but I can't have that anymore!

Just had a peppermint latte today from Starbucks. Great way to start the morning.

I have a confession....so sorry for the lack of comments. I have been a stalker lately. There has been little time for me to sit and enjoy my favorite blogs much less right a post on mine. When there has been a few minutes I have clicked on yours (and CPQ to get a good laugh) for encouragement. Love the new profile picture....beautiful!

Tall, half caff, skinny, mocha latte from Starbucks.

Used to be Diet Coke..had to give them up. Been on the wagon for 15 weeks. I miss them.

Oh, I so understand what you mean about the 'words of affirmation'.....that's me too! And I'm ALWAYS checking to see if I have comments on my blog & sadly it's just one or two here & there. Anyway.....I will do better about commenting on yours & please feel free to drop my blog & say HI when you have time. And my hot drink of choice would be COFFEE! And this time of year I love adding the peppermint mocha creamer.....YUM!

Mmmmm, it may be a tie between a Pumpkin Spice Latte and Peppermint Mocha, luckily they both stay around for their own season!

At home I love just coffee with hazelnut creamer or hot chocolate. The husband and I both just had colds though and discovered our new obsession with hot tea...we are no expert yet, but I think if we got one of those cool wooden boxes to keep our tea bags in we would feel way more grown up.

Oh how I wish I was a coffee drinker! Just don't have a taste for it. I prefer hot apple cider. I check in every day...I'll be a better commenter. Promise. Smiles!

My favorite cold weather drink is hot chocolate. I love it when it is a very cold day (and in the south, we don't get many) and my husband surprises me by preparing some for me!

Emily said...

I'm a stalker too!!! Love your blog, first comment, I think! Peppermint Mocha, White Chocolate Mocha, or Caramel Macchiato all tie as my fave to drink when it's cold! I'm in Charlotte, so it was a perfect afternoon to make a pot of coffee!

Coffee! I love the "fru-fru" kind like a vanilla white chocolate mocha from Caribou, but I can't have those often. I'm not allowed much caffeine these days due to a heart condition. But I would still choose a decaf coffee with sugar and cream over anything else. I like chai tea lattes too and hot chocolate and Russian spiced tea, but coffee is my favorite.

I like coffee in the morning (Caribou Blend - I miss Caribou there aren't any here in Hickory). At night I like hot chocolate with marshmallows - I like the William-Sonoma, but take anything that is in the house. I also like hot cider and russian tea :) I love hot drinks and coffee dates with friends :)

Coffee. But that's everyday.

Russian Tea. Yum.

Chai. I like the Tiger Spice mix from World Market pretty good.

Mint tea + Haute Chocolate tea (from Teavana)

I've tried Trader Joe's new peppermint hot chocolate and it's pretty snazzy.

I guess the better question is what hot drink do I NOT like?!? :)

I love a good cup of tea with milk and sugar, and drink it while it is hot! A bit boring, I need help ordering at starbucks, but know how to order a chi tea latte.

On days when the whole family is home, I like a crock pot full of fresh apple cider warming our tummies and filling the air with its aroma.

On snow days...hot cocoa to melt the freeze.

In quite contemplation...International Foods Hazelnut Cappucino

When writing...gunpowder green tea! Yes, my kids can say there mom drinks gunpowder:)

Hands down, it would have to be Gevalia traditional roast with cream and sugar. But, I also love it with Pumpkin Spice Coffee Mate. Another favorite is hot cocoa with marshmallow cream dolloped on the top.
And hot tea. Too many favorites to just list one! :o)

I am not a coffee drinker... so my faves are hot cider and hot chocolate (with massive amounts of whipped cream, of course). I LOVE to curl up on the couch with a blanket and my hot drink and watch something good on TV.

Well Girl, you should have your love tank full... 37 comments! I loved reading through all of them, & I got tickled thinking about Russian tea (I'd forgotten about that). The 1st year in Raleigh, when you were 6, our realtor gave me a jar of Russian tea & it was a first for me. I liked it a lot. But then over the years, I would always drink that when I had a cold or bronchitis, & had those way too often. So now it usually doesn't sound good to me because it brings back memories of being sick. Isn't it funny how we relate certain smells, tastes, sounds, etc. to events in life?!

Mmm, chai latte. Yum.

I love Starbucks Chai, soy, no water, yum. I also look forward to the eggnog latte, but won't let myself have one until after Thanksgiving. I used to work there, and miss it the most when the cold weather comes!
