About Me

I'm a 30-something girl with a laid back personality, who happens to obsess over wall colors, fabrics, and spray paint.
I am living my dream job as a mom and wife.

Some things that take me to my happy place, in no particular order:
~chai lattes
~decorating
~the mountains
~my husband in a clean shirt
~my children laughing together
~travel
~reading, writing and blogging (not 'rithmatic)
~photography
~Jesus
~river kayaking
~laughing out loud

I'm a former educator who just picked up the textbooks again to homeschool my 3 children. It's been the best decision we've ever made, but some days I just have to pretend I know what I'm doing. ;)

My faith is part of who I am. Without Jesus I am nothing. I don't know how I would handle all that life throws at us without knowing God is right here, holding me in His hand.

This blog is a creative outlet for me. It started as a journal, but has morphed into a great place to interact with my readers and friends. I like to keep it real, inspire, encourage, and top it off with humor. Life is too short to not laugh at myself.

So nice to 'meet' you! I happened upon your blog via a kind comment you left on another blog that I read regularly.

Your blog is just lovely and I look forward to visiting again soon!

I love that you're in North Carolina! I think I know which Ikea you talked about in one of your posts (possibly awhile ago.) is. Of course, it may be the ONLY Ikea in the entire state. LOL. Go figure!

Your post on keeping the master bedroom a haven was really encouraging to me. I'm bad about wanting the rest of the house to look nice, as that's what everyone ELSE sees. But everyone else is not as important as the love of my life. So I'm trying to put that room first. =)

And I heart Hobby Lobby. I'm in South Korea right now, but still dream about Hobby Lobby and JoAnns. Sad.

Oh that's funny. The comment above that talks about your post of making the master bedroom a haven is one of the FIRST posts I remember reading of yours... well it's been awhile since then but this weekend while my husbands at our church's men's retreat I vowed to do just that and I'm making progress!!
