May I Suggest...

It's crunchy like a chip but a pretzel. The best part? FAT FREE! You can find similar ones at the grocery, but they're pretty pricey. Trader Joes is much cheaper.
My favorite way to make my non-fat treat full of fat enjoy my pretzel slims is to dip them in this:

It's World Market's version of Nutella ... crunchy!
The perfect snack.

I'm not a big breakfast girl, but cold mornings are better with this:
This stuff is hard to find. Let me know if you run across some. I'm thinking I could make my own version with quick oats and dried cranberries. Hmm...

My newest favorite: Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer. It adds moisture with a little menthol/peppermint buzz.
BE FOREWARNED: It's not just a touch of color as I first thought. I originally went with Papaya but it was super dark. Thank goodness for CVS easy return policy. I recommend Peony for a nice everyday color.

Okay, so guess I'm a little into the cuisine this week. If you are trying count the calories this little gem is great. It is full of flavor, low in fat and calories, and perfect for an afternoon pick-me-up.

Have a "smart snack" suggestion? Please share!

You have made me so hungry! It might help if I would go ahead and eat breakfast. Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer in watermelon is also a nice, tame color. Love that stuff. And yes you can make your own yummy oatmeal. I have been doing that for several years. I get the rolled oats, add cinnamon, Splenda, a pinch of salt, and raisins or dried cranberries. Sometimes I add fresh blueberries but I add them after the oatmeal has cooked. Just 2 minutes in the microwave and it is ready. A tiny pat of butter makes it tasty, too!

Smart snacks?

Uh. No.

Ignorant snacks? Absolutely.

Like ritz crackers drowned under a mountain of melted colby jack cheese.

Be still my heart.

I like Double Stuff Oreos in Blue Bell Homestyle Vanilla Ice Cream. I guess to make it a smart choice go with 2 scoops instead of 3. It's all about portion control they say.

;) Chips & Salsa is always a winner.

About your post on rearranging furniture...yesterday I read to ungroup sets of furniture. I totally moved a nightstand out into the living room and a rocking chair into the bedroom! I'll have to post pictures. But, I'm with you, move that stuff around!!

I love to pop popcorn this way. Two tablespoons of kernals in a brown paper bag folded down at the top and popped using the popcorn setting on teh microwave. Then I take the popped corn and put it a bowl and drizzle two teaspoons of Olive Oil (Kirklands from Costco) over the popcorn and sprinkle with crushed sea salt. Save money, no popper to clean or the crazy noise and it takes up minimal space in my pantry, saves money and tastes better than the mini bags.
A sleeve of fiber one ceral (looks like sticks)
A bag of chocolate chips, why not go with milk chocolate
2 Tbls peanut butter
Melt chips and peanut butter in micro.
Add the single sleeve of cereal (two in a box)
stir till covered
scoop out unto wax paper lined cookie sheets or mini muffin tins.
High Fiber chocolate snack, just don't eat more than 2 a day!

Ummm...love it over here! I just love having you visit over in my neck of the woods. Though I find it humorous that anyone is enjoying the rambling nonsense of the house tour...I'm so glad you are following it ;)!
Love,

Lately, I have been snacking on carrots and pimento cheese. Not sure how smart the pimento cheese is but I make myself feel better by dipping carrots into it.

Ok, now I am hungry. Hmmm, what should I have?

A handful of almonds or walnuts are good for you and filling.

For late night snacks, the cute hubby and I like apples with peanut butter smeared on each slice!

We also love all kinds of nuts!! I really love boiled peanuts, but I'm not sure how healthy those are...my husband thinks they are nasty. But he's a Florida boy and doesn't understand some of my Southernism!

I also love tomato sandwiches when you can get fresh, home grown tomatoes.

A couple york peppermint patties aren't too bad if you need a piece of candy. Sometimes a cup of hot chocolate in the evening fulfills my sweet tooth without too many extra calories (I just do the kind you mix with water so it's less calories).

I do love junk food, too! Give me a box of cheez-its and I'll eat the whole box by myself. Or hershey's dark chocolate, or ruffles and french onion dip, or cupcakes, or cookies, or...ok, you get the picture!!!

Snickers always satisfies. Oh...not healthy...right.

I lurve the value of a good cheese stick, and a few little crackers.

Also, i like walnuts much better if I toast them for a minute or two.

But I really wanted to say...You had me at (fake) Nutella. YUM
